December 28, 2008

Well Christmas is over and I can hardly believe it. It all just happened so fast!

Sophia playing with her favorite present of all, a Thomas train set. She’s not a girly girl by any means.

Back tomorrow with some actual Paper Pesto stuff, the Christmas draw winner and some sketches to try.

Hope you’re all having a fantastic holiday!

A surprise visit

December 22, 2008

I’ve just had a lovely surprise visit from my friend Steph. Her and her family are off to the US on the 27th and she wanted to drop some gifts off before they went. Steph is the queen of small details and beautiful presentation and I just had to take a photo of how she wrapped these very thoughtful gifts.

One present for baby and one for his big sisters (how sweet is that!). She’s made the most beautiful gift tags out of thick transparencies which she’s wrapped round with patterned paper and ribbon from this months kit! Love it!

Now is it wrong for me to want to open them now, or should I be waiting till bubs is born? I don’t know if I can hold out, I do love presents and the girls have already spied their ‘big sister’ one.

Mind you I may not have to wait long, I woke in the middle of last night with a strong contraction and lower back ache and had about 4 more contractions before it all went quiet again and I fell back to sleep! Guess he changed his mind, which is good because I would like to be home with the girls on Christmas morning and it’s Dave’s birthday tomorrow and he has always complained about being a Christmas baby! Poor honey, you’re so hard done by LOL!

Waiting for you..

December 20, 2008

I’ve been meaning to post a layout for the last two days and just have not found the time! I had even told Rochelle to look out for it, sorry Rochelle =)

We had Christmas lunch with Dave’s family today at our place as we won’t be making our usual trek down to Waitomo this year. For some reason I have felt the need to not be too far from home. I wonder why! I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with Te Kuiti hospital, I’d just rather have my own midwife and be in familiar surroundings.

Anyway, today was wonderful especially as my in laws did everything! They picked up a whole lot of food at the supermarket and we had a lovely simple lunch of Ham and other cold meats, salad and buns and Strawberries and Melting moments for desert. We had planned to have a picnic at Cornwall Park but realised the weather was not going to play along when we woke up this morning. But it was nice to be at home anyway, Isabella was given a new ‘big girl’ bike as she has outgrown her smaller one and is now riding without training wheels. Sophia got the most beautiful baby doll. It’s a little boy one and is nice and chubby and soft with a very realistic looking face. She also got a lovely wooden crib to rock him to sleep in. She was very taken with it and as I told my MIL it’s perfect timing!

Oops before I forget again here is the layout! It’s only scan photo’s but it’s amazing how detailed they are these days! This is my little guy at 18 weeks sucking his fingers in the bottom photo. It was an important scan for us, we had been told earlier of some risks of a possibe genetic disorder such as Down’s but after opting not to have an amniocentecis this scan was the only way to get a better indication that everything was ok. At this stage all seems to be just fine but we’ll need to wait until he is born to be 100% certain.

I’ve used bits mostly from this months kit and some from previous kits as well. I love to mix my stash up a bit =)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone and I hope the rest of the lead up to Christmas is not too stressful for you!

xx Kate

Baby Card -Ann McLachlan

December 18, 2008

baby-card

Look at this cute card made with the Dec kit! Ann hinted that she made it for someone she knows who is having a little boy soon. I hope she meant me!!!

Remember to keep leaving comments to get into the Christmas prize draw!

My Niece -Christi Nelson

December 17, 2008

This layout from Christi features the girly side to the kit. Christi has used machine stitching as a border for her page which helps link in the pink to the green background. She has hand cut her title from the reverse side of one of the imaginisce patterned papers and outlined this for emphasis.

Thanks Christi!

Kemp House – Ann McLachlan

December 16, 2008

Thank you to everyone who has commented so far on the previous posts, it means a lot to us here at Paper Pesto. Keep it up to get your name in the giveaway draw!

Now another beautiful layout from Ann using the December kit.

kemp-house1

This is Kemp house which Ann and her family visited on a recent trip up to Keri Keri. She has ‘aged’ the edges of the papers with ink and tearing so that they suit the olden day theme of the photo’s perfectly.
